Walnuts are a wonderful addition to many dishes, but did you know they also have some wonderful health benefits. Walnuts can help boost your metabolism, which is especially nice for those who are trying to Lose Weight. Walnuts can also help with heart function and control bone health. Walnuts have also been shown to help fight cancer because of its levels of phenolic compounds and antioxidants. Studies have shown that these compounds and antioxidants help to restrict the growth of cancer cells. Walnuts are also loaded with minerals such as; calcium, iron, manganese and potassium. In the past almonds have always been my go-to choice for nuts but after learning all the wonderful benefits of walnuts they are now one of my top choices for a snack or addition to a dish. I love adding them to my kale salads and recently started adding them to my grilled veggies. They are also a great addition to many breads and desserts.
